Ankle:

In Color A, Cast on 48 sts leaving a long tail of yarn (to be used later to finish your Picot cuff edge). Place stitch marker and join yarn to work in the round. Work first 7 rounds in Picot edge stitch as listed above.

Begin Ribbing. Work in k2, p2 ribbing as listed above for 24 rounds. Begin heel shaping.

Heel:

Next round bind off first 20 sts. Knit remaining 28 sts to marker. Following the round, purl back across. Change to Color B, knit across 28 sts. When you reach the heel, cast on 20 sts (now you should have 48 sts on your needle). Begin working rounds again; knitting every round for 24 rounds.

Toe:

To create Toe Cuff Picot Edge:  On the next rnd: *k2tog, yarn over; repeat from * around to marker.

Knit 3 rounds. Bind off all sts evenly but loosely. Leave a long tail of yarn to stitch down Picot Edge.

Finishing:

Weave in yarn tails where you made your color changes at sock heel to wrong side. Clip yarn close. Lightly block socks before turning your Picot edges.

To create Picot Edge, with right side facing you, fold each edge in half at your yarn over line. Use your long yarn tails and a tapestry needle to secure folded edge to wrong side. Secure firmly but take care not to pull tightly to allow your foot to slide in and out of sock.
