Critter Blanket Free Pattern

October is the month of fun Halloween knitting at The Sassy Skein! Here's a pattern for a cute and unique baby or children's blanket - perfect for this spooky season and all year round. Our Key West Karibbean Kotton makes the perfect yarn for this project since it's colorful, 100% cotton, and completely machine washable!

The overall structure is quite simple: Knit five 10" x 10" squares in any fun stitch - we used a simple seed stitch. Then for the critter squares knit four 10" x 10" in stockinette stitch. Using your imagination, create fun critter face pieces in contrasting colors ( a great way to use up your yarn stash). Attach the critter pieces to the stockinette squares with the extra tail from the embellishment.

To finish, attach the squares together using a bright color of your choice! Once all the squares are connected use a single crochet stitch to boarder the blanket. We suggest also using a simple cotton fabric to line the back of the blanket to finish it off!

**For the blanket shown, we used our Key West Karibbean Kotton Yarn in the Worsted Weight with a size 8 needle.

221 Periwinkle
