**If you would like to make Count Frankenstein into a door stop or table-top decoration, you will also need 4 lbs of any kind of large beans or pebbles to weigh down the bottom

Front:

In Color A, cast on 71 stitches, work in stockinette stitch (knit right side, purl wrong side) until piece measures 8”.

Row 1 (RS): In Color B K6, then change to Color A and knit rest of the row until last 6 stitches, change to Color B and K6.

Row 2 (WS): In Color B P6, then change to Color A and purl rest of the row until last 6 stitches, change to Color B and P6.

Repeat Rows 1-2, 11 more times.

Hair Line:

Keeping the established sideburns, 6 sts in Color B in the beginning and end of each row, work this graph for Count Frankenstein’s hair line between the established sideburns.

After working through the chart above, stay in Color B and work 6 rows of stitches, then bind off.

Back:

In Color A, cast on 71 stitches. Knit in stockinette until piece measures 8”. Switch to Color B, knit in stockinette until piece measures 13.5" then bind off.

Left Eye:

In Color C, cast on 12 stitches. Knit in stockinette until piece measures 2.5”, then bind off. Attach finished piece cockeyed to the left side of the front body piece with Color D, making it look like stitches. Add a French knot in Color D to the center of the square.

Right eye:

With your tapestry needle in Color C, stitch a square on the right side of the front body piece. In Color B, cast on 4 stitches,  work 4 rows and bind off. Attach this tiny square to the center of the stitched square. In Color E, add a French knot to the center of the Color B square.

Mouth:

In Color D, cast on 26 stitches

Row1 (WS): Knit row

Row 2 (RS): In Color D, K3, then in Color E, K5, then with Color D knit rest of the row.

Row 3: In Color D, purl 18 stitches, then in Color E P5, then in Color D P3.

Row 4: In Color D K4, Color E K3, Color D knit rest of the row.

Row 5: In Color D purl 19 stitches, Color E P3, Color D P4

Row 6: In Color D K5, Color E K1, Color D K14, Color E K1, Color D K5.

Row 7: In Color D P5, Color E P1, Color D P14, Color E P1, Color D P5.

Row 8: In Color D K4, Color E K3, Color D knit rest of the row.

Row 9: In Color D P19, Color E P3, Color D P4

Row 10: In Color D K5, Color E K5, Color D knit rest of the row.

Row 11: In Color D P18, Color E P5, Color D P5.

Row 12: Purl row

Row 13: Bind off

Attach the mouth piece to the center of the front body piece. Then add a stitch to the right corner of the forehead as shown below.

Laying both pieces right side facing each other, start seeming sides together with a mattress stitch. Sew all three sides leaving the top open, and turn piece inside out so the right side is now facing out towards you. Add beans (if you're making a door stop) and fluff, then sew top together.

The last step will be to make Frankenstein’s bolts. In Color B, cast on 10 stitches and knit a row without flipping. Instead, slide your stitches to the other end of the needle that they are currently on and knit the next row. Continue working in this way until piece measures 6”, and bind off. Take the piece and knot it. Using Color D, attach bolts to the bottom sides of Count Frankenstein.
